Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix displayed an early talent for sports when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her sprinting ability at the at the time. After just 10 weeks of her initial attempt, she placed second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic award at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s, setting a new junior world record. In 2005, she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She was consistently within the top three places of all events.
