Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on the 28th of April 1952. She is an American stage as well as film and television actress. Her parts in Dances with Wolves, Stands With A Fist and Passion Fish were rewarded with Academy Award nominations. McDonnell is most famous for her portrayals of First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. McDonnell was seen as Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's television series The Closer. She also appeared on Major Crimes, the spin-off series of the same network as Commander Sharon Raydor.
